Fake rock?…., faux stones, artificial boulders, imitation, simulated or synthetic, why, I’ve even heard someone call them “make-believe”. Whatever people label them, the rocks we produce are helpful to us in achieving a very natural and realistic effect. I believe that being able to create, and incorporate, man-made rocks and boulders into our work assists us in creating and achieving the desired end result.
Combing faux rock with real may look easy, but it isn’t as easy as it looks. Knowing when and where, as well as how, to use faux rock, takes time, study and patience. Having an artist’s perspective helps too.
