Pond liner installation can be easy if done properly. Garcia Rock And Water Design has been installing pond liners for small, medium and large ponds in Santa Barbara and the surrounding area for over twenty-five years. In the early stages of our career we used PVC liner because that is what we had been taught to use, but then eventually we switched over to using EPDM rubber. We found that the PVC  liner, over time, becomes brittle and is difficult to repair if damaged also to attach another piece to if needed to extend.

A rubber liner patch is quite similar to placing a patch onto a bicycle tire. Before attempting to repair pond liner, proper preparations must be taken. The liner to be patched must be cleaned thoroughly and be dry.  Whether it is a rip, tear or puncture, the area of liner to be repaired should be void of folds and wrinkles and spread as flat as possible before attempting a pond liner repair, or patching the pond liner.

If you think you may need a new pond liner, you can buy a pond liner from Garcia Rock And Water Design, we sell pond liners as well as repairing or installing them

Placing concrete over certain areas of the pond liner that will be worked upon later helps to reduce punctures to the liner which will require patching. This pond liner is being installed in Santa Ynez, Ca.

We like to place concrete over the entire liner but sometimes just over a portion of it

This picture shows an old worn out and ripped PVC pond liner which we abandoned before installing a new EPDM rubber liner. Old PVC liner cracks and tears easily. Placing a patch over rips and tears like the ones shown in the picture are difficult and we cannot guaranty that the patch will stay put. Liner pond repairs can be a pain once undertaken. We have patched and repaired many old and new pond liners in Santa Barbara, Ca. that were installed by others.

The following photos show what has to be the worst pond liner installation that I have ever seen to date:
