Before strategically placing rock and boulders into place, I usually stand at a distance to get a better perspective and overall scale. I then spray paint the areas where I think the rocks, more or less, should be placed.
On this circulating creek job we placed a 7 ounce, nonwoven geo-textile, filter fabric over a 45 mil rubber liner before we tied 3/8 inch rebar at six inches on center. The rebar was installed as reinforcement for the concrete that we placed to create a protective shell that we could work upon.
The concrete shell is ready for the placement of Santa Barbara sandstone rock to create the creek.
